Made from a textured, unglazed groged clay, they are made with 1.5kg of clay giving them a satisfyingly weighty. the pestle is totally solid, the bowl of the mortar is hollow - ideal for grinding spices or pastes effectively. Fired in an electric kiln to 1260 degrees with no glaze.
